Pound a nail, call a donor, fix a lunch, join a committee...There are lots
of great ways to volunteer with Habitat! We need help with many different
tasks... both on the jobsite and in the office. Our volunteers make us successful!
Through volunteer labor, Habitat keeps building costs very low and houses
very affordable. As a volunteer, you could make a huge difference in the life
of a local family and in our community. You don't need any special skills to
be a Habitat volunteer-just caring and a desire to help. We train our volunteers
in building skills, committee tasks, and basic Habitat functions. If you do
have a professional skill that is connected with either home construction
(including legal and real estate) or social services (counseling, etc.), you
could be a tremendous help to Habitat, too.Whatever your interest or area
of expertise, you could use it to help a family in need!
Volunteering For Habitat Is Rewarding (and Fun!)
Many people feel that something is missing in their life until they find the
joy of helping others. When you volunteer for Habitat, you will not only be
helping a family in need have a decent place to live, you will be enriching
your own life. Many people have found a new purpose for their lives in volunteering
for Habitat. One of those people is former President Jimmy Carter, who each
year leads the "Jimmy Carter Work Project" which"blitz builds"
many houses in one week. Mr. Carter's efforts have elevated Habitat for Humanity's
recognition to the point of being one of the most popular and well respected
charitable organizations in the world.
We Need You!
We'd love to have you support
us financially; with a one time gift, or even a pledge for an ongoing
regular commitment, but we'd also like to have you work with us!
Time is money: When you give yourself as a volunteer, you are helping us save
money. Every job that we can get a volunteer to perform is one less that we
have to pay for!
You Can Be A Partner In The #1 Home Builder In The World!
When you become a volunteer for Habitat, you are joining hands with thousandsof
people in the United States and all over the world who are building lives
one family at a time. Over 150,000 houses have been built by people just like
you!
