Since the Cans for Habitat program began in 1997, more than 11.3 million pounds of aluminum cans have been recycled by and for Habitat affiliates. Local affiliates, volunteers, recyclers, national and local retail outlets and civic organizations work together to "Make Every Can Count!" For more information on Cans for Habitat and how to get involved, visit the Cans for Habitat Web site at www.cansforhabitat.org.

   Schools, businesses, community members and organizations are all invited to support Cans for Habitat. Simply take your cans to the following drop-off sites:

• NOVELIS, 1800 Speedway Avenue, Fairmont. There's a drop off bin at the main gate. Novelis matches dollar-for-dollar for every pound of aluminum cans donated for recycling. MAP

• Northern Metal Recycling: 1823 Morgantown Avenue, Fairmont. Collect your cans en-masse and take them directly to Northern Metal Recycling and ask them to direct the proceeds to Habitat. Novelis Fairmont will match dollar for dollar the amount paid by Northern Metal Recycling for the aluminum collected. MAP   Ph (304) 367-1207
