Your Local Habitat For Humanity International Affiliate

Marion County Habitat for Humanity is a faith-based non-profit organization whose mission is the elimination of substandard housing in Marion County. We build new homes in partnership with low-income families and sell them at no profit, financing them with no interest – we offer a hand-up, not a hand-out. Incoming monthly mortgage payments help us continue building with additional families and we also rely on individual donors, local organizations, and community businesses for their contributions of time, money, and building materials.

It costs Habitat about $52,000 to build a new 3-bedroom, 1-bath home – donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. Some examples of material costs:
$7,500 = foundation materials
$5,000 = siding & exterior finish
$2,500 = plumbing materials
$2,000 = insulation
$1,000 = washer, dryer, & dishwasher
$ 500 = exterior doors
$ 300 = 2 windows
$ 100 = 2 squares of roof shingles
$ 25 = 8 studs for interior walls
